Job Overview
The Brothers of Good Works Counseling & Social Services Center is a Faith based organization working with people infected and affected with HIV/Aids and with children living with disabilities and their families and the communities. The BGW Counseling & Social Services Center works with marginalized people to empower themselves through counseling education and socio-economic support. The center is established in Addis Ababa, Arada Subcity and has about 35 staff members.The center has the following vacant positions and invites potential applicants to apply:
Senior Educator
Responsibilities:
- Conducts trainings and peer group discussion programs on HIV/AIDS related issues, life skills and behavior change for in school youth, AACs, CBO’s and commercial sex workers applying tailor-made approaches
- Establishes, facilitates and carries out awareness raising programs with AACs, schools, community leaders;
- Carries out IEC/BCC activities for various target groups;
- Instructs and trains motivators and volunteers;
- Conduct surveys to monitor & evaluate of the results of the activities of the department;
Requirements:
- Education/training
- Degree in Public health and related fields;
- Training on community mobilization, facilitation skills and community conversation;
- Knowledge on HIV-related issues and ABC-approach;
- Certification in HIV-counseling
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with CBOs, commercial sex workers (CSWs) and youth;
- Experience and skills related to drama and music (e.g. playing keyboard) is preferable
Technical and other skills
Strong communicating skills in addressing various target groups and stakeholders;
Strong training and mentoring skills;
