Job Description

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an International NGO based in Italy and established with the aim of supporting Developing Countries in their effort to build up equitable, sustainable and accessible Health Systems. The mission of the Organization is to reduce the excess of mortality, in developing and emergency context, caused by lack of effective health care and to contribute to improve health outcomes among the most vulnerable groups of the population.

Doctors with Africa CUAMM is working in Oromia Region, SNNP Region and Gambella Region.

Location: Addis Ababa
Career Level: Mid Level ( 2+ – 5 years experience)
Salary: As per the Organization Scale

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES

  • Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with state financial legal requirements and donor/organization guidelines
  • Update daily the accounting software (Peach Tree and Lotus)
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Prepare vouchers, cheques, CPOs, transfer letters…
  • Prepare all the due documents for annual financial audit
  • Keep relationships with banks, suppliers and local authorities’ offices
  • Perform bank and cash reconciliations
  • Preparing tax (IT, WHT, pension) computations
  • Prepare payrolls
  • Prepare severance payments
  • Prepare procurement supporting documentation and keep track of orders, purchases and deliveries
  • Pay construction/rehabilitation works as per contracts and possible variations
  • Preparation and coordination of the audit process

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Six (6) months with possible extension (45 days probation period)

REPORTS TO: CUAMM Country Administrator

REQUIRED NUMBER: 1

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

  • Diploma and/or Degree in accounting

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Fluent in English and Amharic
  • Perfect knowledge of Ethiopian accounting, taxation and labor rules/regulation
  • Relevant experience in Accounting (at least 3 years in the same position, preferably with NGOs or INGO)
  • Relevant experience in using accounting software
  • Relevant experience in procurement procedures
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2010, Word and Excel Programs
