Job Overview
St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College currently conducting a research with collaboration of Ministry of Health on Knowledge, Attitude and Practice towards Family Planning and Barriers for Utilization of Family Planning among Women of Reproductive Age Groups in Emerging Regions (Afar, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gmbela and Somali regions). To precede the data collection, we are looking potential candidates for the following positions.
- Research coordinators
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and guide data collectors through providing technical Yi supports
- Participate on data collection activities
- Facilitate any activates and required logistics, such as communicating with regional health bureau, woreda administrates and other community leaders
- Oversee the data entry process to ensure submission of quality data on timely basis.
- Report daily, weekly and monthly feedback to central research team.
- Resolve issues like data discrepancies and incompleteness through communicating with data manager and other research teams.
Required qualification and experiences
- At least BSc degree in Health Science fields, Sociology, Demography, Statistics or population studies
- At least two years of working experience on governmental and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience on data collection, specifically on online data collection using Tablets/Mobiles
- Desirable having experience on doing as supervisor on big data collection activities
- Excellent at mentoring and coaching to address data quality issues
- Troubleshooting and problem solving skill
- Ability to perform well under stressful conditions
- Excellent communication skill and promote team work
- Must be fluent speaker of Amharic, English and local languages

- Qualitative data collector and coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities:
► Conduct in depth interview, FGD and KU in the assignec region.
► Transcribing and translating as required the in-depth interview, FGD and KB conducted
► Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy.
► Meet with supervisor daily to submit transcribed discussion and discuss progress.
► Carry out additional assignment as required
Place of assignment: Selected sites in Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambela, Afar and Ethiopia-Somali regions.
Minimum requirements:
- Master degree in Health Sciences, Demography, Sociology, Psychology, Journalism and Communications or any other related fields of study
- Proven experience in qualitative research data collection.
- Ability to work in rural and urban settings, and willingness to travel to remote locations
- Ability to work under tight deadlines

Required qualification and experiences
► At least diploma in health science, demography, sociology or on other related fields
► Minimum of one year data collection experiences, especially online using tablets/ mobiles
► Excellent communication skill and promote team work
► Proficient for local languages
