Job Title

National Human Rights and advocacy Coordinator

Job Requirement

The program is implemented with well known international and local partners

The  national coordinator for human rights and advocacy will work as part of a team in the Together for inclusion (TOF) Consortium ,and in close collaboration with the Norwegian Association of the Blind and partially sighted(NABP).TOFI is a multi-stakeholder effort working for equal rights and opportunities for persons with disabilities in six African Countries ,including Ethiopia

Activities Required

• Compiling and analyzing disability laws and policies in Ethiopia
• Identifying the gaps in the implementations of disability rights in genera; and of persons with visual impairment in particular
• Conducting advocacy activities based on the identified gaps \
• Transforming Ethiopian National Association of the Blind’s(ENAB’S)
• Designing and prioritizing advocacy issues of disabilities rights
• Collaboration with TOFI partners in Ethiopia (Including active participating in Human Rights and Advocacy (HRA) Technical Working Group)
• Collaboration and communication with TFOI Programme manager in NABP in the development and reporting on implementation HRA programme in Ethiopia
• Capacity building and organizational strengthening ENAB and other TOFI partners
• Organize training and awareness raising in communities ,for activists organizations on the rights of person with disabilities and disability rights
• Support work with supplementary convection on the rights of person with disabilities(CRPD) Shadow report and related initiatives
• Support and participate in relevant networks
• Doing any other related activity

Education

• Minimum of Bachelor of Arts Degree
• Graduating in law and human rights in the first degree
• At least 4 years of experience for PhD holders and 6 years of experience for master degree holders 8 years of experience for BA Degree in the fields related to those mentioned educational background s
• Informed in disabilities related concepts
• Experience in project management and planning program design
• Experience in reporting and monitoring using quantities analysis
• Experience in a coordinating position leading a team
• Good skills in Communications ,English language, Technologies etc
• Experience working effectively with governments ,civil society ,multi tasked and private sector
• Experience in developing and conducting training ,campaigns and community work.

Specific Skills and Knowledge

• Co-operative well with others; Shares knowledge ,experience and information; supports others in the pursuit of team goals
• Builds a useful network of contacts and relationships and utilizes it to achieves objectives
• Those with work experience on disability are encouraged to apply
• Those who have international cooperation and/or NGO experience to apply
