Job Purpose

ESAT Radio and TV Public Media is currently looking for a chief  Executive  Officer .Under the overall direction of the Board OF Directors, the CEO will be responsible to provide a broad range of managerial and leadership roles in this  thriving and ever developing media organization .These tasks will include ,but not limited ,to strategic planning ,performance Management and monitoring ,coordinating ,capacity development and the day to day performance operation and management of this media organization.

A successful candidate will have proven professional media management experience to ensure all programs and operations are run effectively and efficiently and all policies of ESAT Public Media are adhered to:

Objective of the position

• Lead the development of high quality(Short and long term)Strategies and plans of ESAT aligned with objectives
• Translate strategies into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goals ,performance management ,and annual operation
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships in the Business ,enhance Marketing ,Resources mobilization and successful media production
• Oversee all operations ,Business activities ,as well as adherence to the policies and procedures of ESAT

Competency

• Manage ESAT Operation and ensure employee productivity through capacity building and create a highly motivating ,inclusive culture and environment in the organization ad ultimately attaining organizational goals ;
• Build and Maintain trusted partnerships and Relationships with Key customers, Clients ,other stakeholder and members
• Establish in house policies and procedures that promote ESAT Public Media  culture and vision in accordance with the overall strategy of  ESAT
• Prepare and submit plans ,budgets flowcharts, and regular performance reports in all matters of importance
• Work closely with the broad ,key partners and all stakeholders
• Driving the Organization’s Operating capabilities to surpass customer/audience satisfaction and its goals
• Research and implement new technologies that are relevant to the evolving environment
• Control the organization’s costs and introduce innovative measure to ensure the safeguard and safety of asset and properties .
• Monitoring invoice ,financial handling procedures ,accounting and bank processes
• Preparing timely annual budget and compile accurate financial performance Reports to the board ,internal management team and other required external audits
• Communicate on behalf of ESAT to all stakeholders including ,customers relevant governments entities and the general Public
• Represent ESAT Public Media at Regional ,National and international levels as needed
• Undertake other duties and responsibilities provided by the Board of Directors

 Reporting

• The CEO will report to the board of Directors of the ESAT Public Media

Qualifications

Education

Masters level degree in relevant field of studies, preferably Media/Journalism

Experience

• A minimum of 10 years relevant and progressive experience in executive leadership positions
• Previous Working experience at as senior managerial and leadership position in a media environment

Required Qualities

• Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
• Understanding of Advanced business Planning and regulatory issues
• Demonstrate the leadership necessary to make the organization’s mission a success.This includes providing vision direction ,attracting followers ,and  all other aspects of successful leadership
• Experience in mobilizing resources and fundraising is preferred
• Aptitude in decision –making and problem solving
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Excellent Communication ,presentation and leadership skills
• Experience in Creating a culture of learning to help enhance and grow the skills and abilities of employees
• Excellent relations and partnership building skills
• Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure/ERP Software and MS Office
• Attention to details
• Language;fluency both in oral and written Amharic and English; additional Ethiopian and international languages are advantages
