Job Description

Overall Responsibility:

Working with and reporting to the MSIE MCH Manager/Center Manager/Center Coordinator, The Nurse performs nursing duties as nurse ensuring efficient delivery and client / patient care in accordance with accepted standard medical practice and professional code of conduct.

Objectives:

Nurse performs his/her duties to achieve the following principal objectives.

1. To increase client satisfaction and build reputation of MSIE clinical services

2. To ensure sustainability and financial feasibility of MSIE clinical services

Specific Responsibilities:

Be responsible and acts as a head for the Operation Theatre and the Sterilization Unit.
Assists doctors as Theatre Nurse and undertakes all standard measures required for procedures.
Prepares all surgical instruments, sets and medical supplies required for operation in accordance with accepted standards, assists doctors intra-operatively (as a Scrub Nurse, Circulating Nurse, etc.) and makes the instruments ready for other operations as required.
Puts the interest of clients / patients above all other considerations and ensures the confidentiality of all cases.
Ensures proper receipt, storage, safe keep, issuance and timely placement of orders of surgical instruments and medical supplies for theatre by pre-establishing re-order level and regular replenishment of enough stocks of the same.
Ensures the maintenance of high level standards and applies universal precautions to infection prevention.
Avails herself / himself to regular stock taking and audit as and when required.
Prepares and submits periodic reports as required.
Under takes any other duties that may be assigned to him/her by the Centre Coordinator.

Job Requirements

Person Specification

1) Required Qualification:

Specialized Nurse

2) Experience

2 Years for Higher Diploma and 4 years for Nursing Diploma.

3) Required Skills, Attitudes and Attributes

Good Communication and Interpersonal skills
Ability to withstand pressures
Conscious of Government, MSI and MSIE regulations
Ability to make logical and timely decisions
Counselling skill
Awareness of concepts and strategies of quality care.
