Position: Junior Finance Officer

EngenderHealth is currently looking for a well-qualified Junior Finance Officer for its ABRI projects based in Hawassa Office.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Junior Finance Officer will be responsible to ensure that all financial transactions are compliant with local laws, donor regulations, and internal policies; keep custody of petty cash and maintain cash register book; record transactions into Quick books; maintaining proper filing system; preparing and paying income and withholding taxes; follow up and ensure timely settlement of travel and work advances; update the status of bank balance; prepare petty cash payment voucher and facilitate payment; coordinate per diem and other workshop/training related payments; and liaison with banks to process CPO’s, drafts, collect bank statements and other documents as required/delegated. He/she will also be responsible to carry out assistance tasks such as ensuing that proper financial policies, procedures and systems are operated and maintained at the field office; budget and report preparation; checking all financial document of field office for completeness and proper expense authorization; preparing monthly expense report for central office; and coordination of year-end audit. Managing the stock/store, distribution tracking and putting the necessary systems in place is also the responsibility of the incumbent.

REQUIREMENT:

  • Diploma in Accounting.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in the field of finance stock/store management, distribution tracking and putting the necessary systems in place, preferably, in an international NGO.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office application software and knowledge of accounting software particularly QuickBooks is highly preferred.
  • Good command of English.
  • Flexible and open to learn.
  • Very good interpersonal skill at all levels of staff and high level of integrity.
  • Ability to undertake work under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
